In the Armando Palacio Valdés square you will find the town hall, a modernist style building which was constructed at the end of the XIX century, inaugurated at the beginning of the 20th century, specifically in 1905. It represents a great symmetry, fact which confers it an elegant aspect. Its ground floor facade is formed by an arcade with five arcs.
Our church, situated in the heart of Pola de Laviana. Of neogothic style we must highlight its bell tower. In its interior a main nave with two wings on two pointed arcs, it possesses a very austere decoration highlighting the policrhome stained glass windows and paintings which surround the sculpting of the Virgin Asunción.
From the Pontona square, about one kilometre seperates us from the cemetery, the place where you can find the sanctuary of the virgin del Otero; we head towards it up the steep street whose name makes mention of the virgin.the sanctuary, can be attributed to date after the 15th century. The interior, which can be accessed through the cemetery main entrance door, its barroque altarpiece is remarkably beautiful which dates back to the 17th century.
In the next village, Entralgo, you can find the home of the famous writer Armando Palacio Valdés. It has an inscription with his date of birth. You can visit his home.
